Our Activities

The beautiful falls at Bouma

Line

Our focus is on natural activities. We have kayaking, dugout canoeing, hand-line fishing, native handicrafts, hiking on moderate trails that offer breathtaking vistas for hundreds of miles, hammock testing, sunning, swimming, snorkeling, hobie cat sailing, volleyball and croquet.

Start your day at your leisure. Wake for the sunrise celebration and be one of the first people in the world to greet the new day. Venture off for a morning fishing excursion and be back in time for breakfast, or "sleep the day away". You are free to do as much or as little as you please. Nautilus ShellSpend the day together collecting treasures left by the sea, soak up a little sun and share a special moment with one another. Or spend the day at our own private honeymoon beach, with deck and shade bure overlooking Somosomo Straits and Taveuni.

In addition, we have snorkeling, beachcombing, trekking, water activities, handline fishing, local craft lessons, sailing, kayaking, outrigger canoeing, volley ball, croquet, a full array of indoor games and sunset boat trips, as conditions allow. Special children's activities can be organized as needed. Off island activities are also available.

Snorkeling and Trekking SNORKELING

Our barrier reef provides excellent offshore snorkeling. We also offer other nearby snorkeling locations on Rainbow Reef and other adjacent properties. Complimentary gear is available upon request for the duration of your stay.

TREKKING

Our peninsula has moderate hiking trails, which can each be covered comfortably within 30-45 minutes. The trails are defined rainforest-like ridgetop paths that provide access to private beaches. Along the trails are strategically placed view decks and lookouts, allowing you to enjoy exquisite rainbows, dramatic sunsets, ancient fishponds and spectacular vistas for hundreds of miles.

TOP OFF ISLAND ACTIVITIES

Korolevu - A small uninhabited island in the Somosomo Strait with three beautiful secluded beaches. A great place for a picnic, or even a wedding!

Waterslide - This natural waterslide at Waitavela, Taveuni situated amongst the rainforest provides fun and thrills! The local children are often seen there on Sunday afternoons and they will show you how the 'professionals' do it! A delightful experience.

Bouma Falls - The Bouma Falls in Taveuni consist of three separate and most beautiful waterfalls. The first is an easy walk, and has a small swimming lake with sandy access for swimming. The second and third entail some minor trekking, and each falls has its own intrinsic beauty. At the top, there are beautiful views across the foothills and out to the ocean. Boat journey to Taveuni, plus one hour by vehicle each way.

Trekking at Lavena Lavena - The trip to Lavena takes about a further 20 minutes by vehicle past Bouma, but your journey will be amply rewarded by the famous Lavena Beach (where the film Blue Lagoon II was filmed), and a pleasant rainforest trek to a secluded waterfall. This waterfall is situated in its own 'amphitheatre' - a unique and stunning setting.

Tagimoucia Lake - This lake, in an old volcanic crater, is found in the peaks of Taveuni. The trek to the lake is quite strenuous ... but along the way one can enjoy the stillness of the rainforest, see many beautiful native birds, and (in certain months only) one can see the rare and legendary tagimoucia flower.

Village Tours - Whilst in Fiji, consider a tour to one of the local villages. Be transported to a simpler lifestyle, and enjoy the smiling faces of the villagers and their genuine and enthusiastic welcome.
